Imperial Sports Ground provides a host of facilities and activities, including outdoor and indoor sports amenities, as well as outdoor sports projects.

Shape up and burn fat as you lunge, step and squat your way to fitness in this dynamic enjoyable class using weights and body weight exercises. The high repetition based routines will put your legs, bums and tums through their paces in bid to trim down those areas we all love to hate.
Enjoy all the benefits of yoga with a modern twist! Freestyle Fitness Yoga adapts traditional yoga poses into a series of dynamic but easy-to-follow sequences. Challenge yourself to master the body-conditioning exercises which work to develop muscle strength and tone, increasing your flexibility and improving your core stability at the same time. Always finishing with a quiet relaxing practice.
This is cardiovascular training on a stationary exercise bike. You have complete control of your bike and it’s resistance that you can turn up or down for sprints, hill climbs, and interval training. The instructor will guide you through these hill climbs, sprints and intervals, with good music and great beats. This class will help increase lower body strength and improve your overall fitness. All fitness abilities welcome.
Varied and fun! You never know what you will get until you turn up; Step, Pump, Aerobics, free weights or HIIT … our excellent trainer likes to keep you on your toes and excited for what’s to come. All levels of fitness and ability welcome. The class will be structured to suit the participants in attendance.
Low Impact Body Conditioning
A body conditioning class that provides a whole body workout with an equal focus on strengthening exercises, aerobic exercise and endurance. This class involves floor work on exercise mats, with the use of either free weights, resistance bands, Pilates balls or steps. With a highly skilled coach, class dynamics will adapt to the attendees, from high-impact, high-energy workout sessions that aim to challenge to a stable more focused energy on movement and strengthening techniques.
LEARN TO LIFT
This is a strength and conditioning class that is designed to teach you how to lift weights correctly. This class is adaptable for all levels of fitness with an aim to get you doing the exercises with the right technique. The classes will help build strength and burn calories! Each session will involve the use of free weights and bodyweight, and will finish off with a core blast on the mats. Strength and conditioning is a great way to transform your body and get results, whatever your level of fitness. Here are some of the benefits you could gain from regular training!

Pilates has low-impact on the joints and uses controlled movements, with primary focus on the core to build strength. This helps to improve general fitness, control and overall well-being. Pilates concentrates on posture, balance and mobility.
Bootcamp fitness is an energetic and dynamic way to get stuck into functional training, which is fun but challenging, with a mix of techniques and programme styles such as circuits, intervals and relays, using just body weight or weights and equipment. Bootcamp always gives you something a little bit different and enjoyable. With bootcamp you can improve your fitness and endurance, as well as strength. We have a great coach who is always on hand to assist and guide through each programme, which makes it suitable for all abilities.
Zumba is a fun and friendly class that allows everyone to access exercise in a enjoyable way. We encourage participants to engage in class in a way that is right for them. We encourage all ages and all levels to join our classes. Jax and Ally look forward to welcoming you.
Our qualified personal trainers are on hand to give free advice, nutritional information and weekly weigh-ins on our body composition machine. Make use of our free gym programmes, nutritional advice, exercise tips, motivation and other support!
Enabling Self-management and Coping with Arthritic Pain using Exercise
ESCAPE-pain is a group rehabilitation programme for people with chronic joint pain that integrates educational self-management and coping strategies with an exercise regime individualised for each participant. It helps people understand their condition, teaches them simple things they can help themselves with, and takes them through a progressive exercise programme so they learn how to cope with pain better.
We are proud to be providing ESCAPE-pain courses at Imperial sports ground. If you have knee or hip pain, you could benefit from joining the classes. Once the course is complete you could also benefit from attending our maintaining mobility classes. These classes are run by our qualified gym instructors, which continues to offer support in gentle exercise to relieve pain.
What to expect from the course:
- Learn ways to manage knee and hip pain
- Meet others who also have osteoarthritis
- Learn gentle exercises and movements to relieve joint pain
